FACILITIES TEAM LEADER – FULL TIME/ PERMANENT

CORK SIMON COMMUNITY ARE CURRENTLY SEEKING APPLICATIONS FOR FACILITIES
TEAM LEADER POST:

To be successful in this role, you will need experience of building
maintenance and safety systems, food safety management and general
hygiene and infection control. You will represent Cork Simon
Community’s Facilities Team for EHOS projects within Anderson’s
Quay. You will coordinate and deliver all day-to-day aspects of
ancillary services including housekeeping, maintenance and catering
services. To deliver this you will be responsible for leading a large
team to effectively and efficiently provide these aspects of care to
those using emergency services at Anderson’s Quay.

IT IS THEREFORE CRITICAL THAT YOU HAVE:

* Relevant experience in aspects of facilities management in the
areas of housekeeping, maintenance and catering.
* Working knowledge of all relevant Health and Safety and Food
Safety Regulations and other legislation as well as relevant public
health guidance.
* Relevant experience in leading and supervising staff
* Strong organisational and time management skills, to coordinate
team members and tasks, and report on progress through appropriate use
of IT and systems where required.
* Strong communication skills essential to lead a large team, to
work in a supportive way with colleagues, and to represent the EHOS
Facilities team with donors and supporters, to neighbours and other
stakeholders and with our service users.

SOME OF THE KEY DUTIES OF THE ROLES INCLUDE:

* Be responsible for the day to day running of EHOS ancillary
services including catering and housekeeping and the maintenance and
safety of the environment in EHOS projects led by the Facilities
Manager, assist in maintaining, reviewing and developing suitable
policies and procedures and reporting on same.
* Lead the housekeeping team to ensure the EHOS environment is clean
and hygienic.
* Lead the kitchen team to ensure the EHOS services are provided
with appropriate meals, snacks and beverages.
* Lead the maintenance team and work with contractors and suppliers
to ensure that the EHOS environment is safe and well-maintained.
* Organise the rotas for the kitchen, housekeeping and maintenance
staff and manage required processes for annual leave applications and
reporting on absences.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR THIS POST WILL HAVE:

* Relevant third level qualification: e.g. Health & Safety,
Facilities Management, Infection Control, Food Hygiene
* At least 2 year’s experience working in a similar role including
some or all of the areas of responsibility.
* STRONG IT SKILLS, being proficient in all Microsoft Office
applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel. Ability to use internal
systems and database is essential.
* TEAM LEADERSHIP SKILLS to enable you motivate, challenge and
support your team to fulfil their duties to a high standard
* EXCELLENT WRITTEN AND VERBAL COMMUNICATION AND INTERPERSONAL
SKILLS to enable you to work cooperatively with a wide variety of
stakeholders
* STRONG SENSE OF EMPATHY, PATIENCE AND TOLERANCE which will enable
you to work well to a trauma informed model of care, focused on harm
reduction and meeting individual complex needs of those using
services, as they embark upon their personal journey from homelessness
into housing.
* RISK ASSESSMENT, ANALYSIS AND DECISION MAKING SKILLS: it is
essential that you are capable of carrying out risk assessments, and
determining how best to proceed in addressing issues within the built
environment and facilities, or with processes and tasks to be
completed.
